How can you use emotion as a strategy in product design?
The term ‘emotional design’ may seem to refer to a special class of products that are exceptionally luxurious or beautiful. But in fact, every product and service evokes emotions. These emotions won’t always be intense or long-lived, but they influence people’s behavior and mindset nonetheless. Designers and product developers who understand this use this knowledge to create better products and user experience. Emotion-driven design takes this idea a step further. How can you deliberately target specific positive (and sometimes even negative!) emotions? This book chapter gives an overview of six major emotion-driven design strategies.
